Union Minister for Health, 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗗𝗿. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘁 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗶𝗻, attended and delivered the opening address at 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, held on 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟱 𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗛𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗹, 𝗬𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗻.

This event was jointly organized by the 𝗘𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘀𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮, 𝗬𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗻 and the 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮-𝗠𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲 (𝗜𝗠𝗖𝗖).

𝗛.𝗘. 𝗠𝗿. 𝗔𝗯𝗵𝗮𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗸𝘂𝗿, Ambassador of India to Myanmar, and 𝗠𝗿. 𝗡𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗞𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗱𝗶𝘆𝗮, President of IMCC, welcomed participants and emphasized the growing bilateral cooperation. In his keynote, the Union Minister highlighted:

• India is Myanmar’s fourth-largest trading partner, with trade reaching USD 2.1 billion in 2024–2025.
• Pharmaceuticals form a major import sector, with over 60% of Myanmar’s medicine and medical supplies sourced from India.
• Indian pharmaceutical products are valued for high quality and affordability.
• The Minister invited Indian businesses and investors to go beyond import & distribution and to invest in local pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• He emphasized that Myanmar offers not only special investment incentives, but also opportunities to access neighboring and ASEAN markets through export.
• He affirmed that strong regulatory oversight by the FDA Myanmar to ensure medicine safety and public health.

The Minister expressed appreciation for India’s rapid 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 in emergencies from 𝗖𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗶𝘀 (𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟴) to the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗸𝗲 including emergency medical support and relief teams.

Senior officials from the 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗗𝗜𝗖𝗔), 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗿𝘂𝗴 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗙𝗗𝗔), 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲, and 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘀 shared valuable insights on 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 and 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 relevant to pharmaceutical operations in Myanmar.

This was followed by a panel discussion on “𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 & 𝗪𝗮𝘆 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗺𝗮𝗿’𝘀 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆,” moderated by 𝗠𝗿. 𝗥𝗮𝗷𝗲𝗲𝘃 𝗥𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗹, Vice President of IMCC, featuring panelists from 𝗙𝗗𝗔 𝗠𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗺𝗮𝗿, 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲, 𝗜𝗠𝗖𝗖, and 𝗨𝗠𝗙𝗖𝗖𝗜.
